GUARANTEE

We take pride in offering high quality programs and resources. If a program or resource does not meet your expectations, please contact us at [email protected] or 780.420.1987.

PAYMENT

You must pay for programs and resources by credit card (VISA or Mastercard) if your cart totals less than $750. For amounts greater than $750, you may choose to be invoiced and pay by cheque mailed to our office.

Please contact us if you require an access bursary, modified payment schedule, or alternative payment method.

PROGRAMS

Payment

You may pay for programs by credit card (VISA or Mastercard) during the online registration process or by calling our office at 780.420.1987. Alternatively, and provided you meet the conditions noted above, you may choose to be invoiced and pay by cheque mailed to our office. Cheques must be received within 30 days of registration or 1 week prior to the program running (whichever is earlier) or your registration may be cancelled. Registrations received within 1 week of the program date must be paid online at the time of registration by VISA or Mastercard.

You will not receive program materials if payment has not been received.

Program materials

Program materials are provided in an electronic format and can be accessed via a link emailed to registrants prior to the program.

COVID-19

Program formats and dates are subject to change depending on the COVID-19 restrictions in place at the time of the program running. Attendees will be notified as soon as possible of any change to program format or date. We are committed to ensuring the health and safety of all attendees, volunteers, and staff (and their families) and will follow all provincial and local health requirements and recommendations.

Registration transfers 

Program registration can be transferred to another person at no extra charge up until the time webinar access information or program materials have been sent to registrants. Registration cannot be transferred once webinar access information or program materials have been sent. Registration cannot be shared by more than one person.

Cancellation: webinars and livestream programs

We do not offer refunds on webinars or livestream programs; however, access to recordings and/or program materials (if any) will be provided.

Cancellation: single or half-day in-person programs

Registration fees, less a $50.00 (plus GST) cancellation fee, will be refunded for cancellations received in writing at least 5 business days prior to the program. Refunds cannot be given after that date; however, program materials (if any) will be provided. If you need to cancel your registration after that date due to the COVID-19 pandemic, please contact us for options by calling 780.420.1987 or by emailing [email protected]

Cancellation: multi-day in-person programs (EXCEPT for Intensive Advocacy)

Registration fees, less a $250.00 (plus GST) cancellation fee, will be refunded for cancellations received in writing at least 14 business days prior to the program start date. Refunds cannot be given after that date; however, program materials (if any) will be provided. If you need to cancel your registration after that date due to the COVID-19 pandemic, please contact us for options by calling 780.420.1987 or by emailing [email protected]

Cancellation: Intensive Advocacy

Registration fees, less a $250.00 (plus GST) cancellation fee, will be refunded for cancellations received in writing at least 30 business days prior to the program start date. Refunds cannot be given after that date. Copyright and disclaimer

Recording, broadcasting, streaming, or otherwise distributing any live or pre-recorded program or webinar are prohibited without the express written consent of the Legal Education Society of Alberta.

Views and opinions expressed during programs and in program materials are those of the presenter(s)/author(s).

PUBLICATIONS

Payment

Full payment is required before publications or access to online resources will be provided or a publication will be shipped, except for regular practice manual updates. Please see above for information related to credit card payments and invoices.

Returns

Publications in new, unopened condition may be returned within 30 days of purchase for a full refund less a $20.00 processing fee. Shipping costs are not refundable.

Practice Manual subscriptions

Titles in LESA’s Practice Manual Series are updated periodically. Subscribers automatically receive updates, invoiced at the time of publication. Update notices are sent at least four weeks prior to the newly released update. You may remove yourself from a subscription list at any time by logging into your account and viewing your “memberships”, emailing us at [email protected], or by calling us at 780.420.1987.

DOWNLOADABLE PAPERS (PDFs)

LESA reserves the right to remove content from its website. To ensure continual access to your program materials, please download and save PDF(s) to your system at the time of purchase.

ONLINE CLASSROOM

If you are a LESA Classroom account holder, purchased on-demand programs (including Webinars on Demand and Seminars on Demand) will automatically be added to the “My Courses” tab on your LESA Classroom account following a purchase. If you are not yet a LESA Classroom account holder, an account will automatically be created for you with the credentials sent to your email address shortly following an on-demand program purchase.

LESA LIBRARY

Access to the LESA Library will be provided by email within 3 business days of receipt of payment. Annual LESA Library subscriptions can be cancelled for a full refund up to 5 business days from receiving your login credentials, after which annual subscriptions are not refundable. LESA Library subscribers agree to abide by the LESA Library policies and Terms of Use.

DISCOUNTS AND COUPONS

LESA is pleased to offer 25% off most programs and resources for law students or students-at-law (excluding firm subscriptions to the LESA Library, select programs, and products with student pricing) and 10% off most programs and resources for lawyers called within the last 5 years (excluding firm subscriptions to the LESA Library and select programs). Coupons cannot be combined. Additional restrictions may be contained on coupons. Coupons can be applied in addition to a student-at-law discount or distance bursary.

GROUP DISCOUNTS

We offer discounts for multiple lawyers or staff members from a single firm to attend an in-person, livestream, webinar, or on-demand program. Please contact [email protected] for pricing.

PRIVACY

A list of program attendees may be provided to in-person attendees, faculty, and sponsors. If you do not wish to have your information appear in the attendee list, please email us at [email protected] or contact us at 780.420.1987.

Please also note that our programs may be audio and/or video recorded and retained by LESA for the purposes of providing continuing legal education. You may appear in the video and/or audio recordings.

Our collection, retention, use and disclosure of your personal information will be in accordance with LESA’s general Privacy Policy.
